An access template allows quick assignment of multiple access rights to users by grouping them into one template. The system checks for errors or duplicates, which must be corrected before saving.
An access template is a method used to create and assign a set of access rights to a user quickly and easily, especially when there are multiple users who will need the same access within the system. Setting up one (or more) access templates will allow assignment of multiple access rows to a user without the need to add individual lines of access, one at a time, for each user.
To create a new Access Template:
- Select the Access Templates option from the left navigation menu under the Admin dropdown:
2. In the Access Templates screen, select the +Create Template link:
3. Name your template and add an optional description to help easily identify its purpose:
4. To add access rows, fill out the required fields in the Add Access Right section then press the blue Add to Template link:
5. The added lines of access will appear in the Access Template grid below the Add Access Right section:
6. As lines of access are added, the system will verify them one by one for errors or conflicts.
Note: Adding multiple rows of access with identical information or conflicts will result in an error:
These errors must be corrected before the access can be saved. Remove the duplicate access row using the icon at the end of the row.
7. Once you have added all the Access Rights you wish to add to the template, select the “Finish” button at the bottom.
8. A confirmation message will display with links that allow you to easily return to the Access templates page to review or edit your new access template or create another template:
