In eOPF, users have a single user profile containing all employments from every serviced agency. Duplicate user profiles can arise from errors like incorrect SSNs. To purge incorrect user profiles, submit a Help Desk ticket with a password-protected Purge Request template. Involve your Agency POC to formally authorize the request.
The PMO reviews and submits the request to DevOps for purging. All purge requests are prioritized and handled by DevOps based on their capacity, and in consideration of higher priority eOPF development work.
Agencies must retrieve and delete documents sent to NPRC before submitting a purge request.
In eOPF, users have a single user profile that houses all of their employments from every eOPF serviced agency by which they have been employed.
A duplicate user profile is defined as two separate eOPF user profiles existing for a single user, usually due to a typo in the user's SSN. You can identify duplicate user profiles by searching for the user and checking the results. To confirm duplicates, search multiple times using different info fields (full name, SSN, email, etc.) to catch any outdated or incorrect data.
If you identify an incorrect user profile generated by an incorrect SSN, follow the steps below to submit a purge request:
- Remove all documents from the folders connected to the incorrect user profile
- Create a Help Desk ticket at eOPFhelpdesk@eopf.opm.gov
- Include a detailed explanation and attach the official Purge Request template listing the user names and incorrect SSNs tied to the profile needing to be purged
- Password protect the Purge Request template and attach to the Help Desk ticket
- If you are not an Agency POC, cc your agencies eOPF POC to the ticket for authorization and ask them to reply with a formal authorization
- Submit the ticket
- Send the password in a separate email
- The PMO will review the request and submit to DevOps for purging
Note: You may need to request folders back from NPRC or coordinate with other agencies to request from NPRC in order to remove all documents from the folders before the purge request can be fulfilled.
