Summary
A recent bug in the Electronic Data Feed (EDF) process caused some folders that had already been transferred to be incorrectly changed from Transfer Confirmed to Inactive. This change occurred when an inactive EDF record was processed.
What Happened
Because the affected folders were marked Inactive, they appeared available for new transfer requests. As a result, some agencies had to deny requests for records that had already been transferred.
The Solution
Folders that were incorrectly marked Inactive and contained only deleted documents were updated back to Transfer Confirmed.
This correction restored the folders’ status and removed them from availability for new transfer requests.
Important Details
The reprocess function will not run on these folders.
Once the link between a folder and a previous transfer request is removed, the link cannot be restored.
What You Need to Do
No action is needed from your agency at this time.
If you encounter a previously transferred folder that contains documents that still need to be transferred, please submit a ticket to the eOPF Help Desk at eopfhelpdesk@eopf.opm.gov for guidance on resolving the folder’s status.
